Check a host to make sure it is available and all its services are running.
Optional services to check include: Ping (ICMP), HTTP (up to 3 ports), HTTPS (1 port), DNS, SMTP, POP3, IMAP4, FTP, SSH, TELNET, NNTP and up to 3 miscellaneous TCP ports.
If any of the checks fail, an error is recorded in the check log and the alert notification procedure is initiated.
Settings:
Host Address: The hostname or IP address of the host to be checked.
Ping (ICMP): Check the host for basic network connectivity. The host firewall must allow ICMP packets.
HTTP Service 1,2,3: Configure up to 3 HTTP services to check. An HTTP query for directory "/" will be sent to the port specified. If an HTTP response other than "200 OK" is received, an alert will be generated.
HTTPS: Same as HTTP service check except HTTPS is used.
Other Services: Select the other services to check for a valid response. Specify the port if different from the default.
